Biography: Yılmaz Erdoğan was born on November 4, 1967 in Hakkari. After finishing primary and secondary school, he continued his education in Ankara Aydınlıkevler High School. After high school, he won Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Civil Engineering. He started to live with his friends in Istanbul Kocamustafapaşa. He left his education at ITU and joined Ferhan Şensoy’s On Duty Theater staff. Later, he worked as the lead writer in Levent Kırca’s TV program named “That Will Be It”. He is the author of the TV series “Umut Taxi” broadcast on TRT. He also starred in this series.He began to be widely known with the character of Mükremin Çıtır in the TV series Bir Demet Tiyatro, and at the same time he was the scriptwriter of this series. In 1994 he founded Beşiktaş Cultural Center with Necati Akpınar.

  Here he penned plays such as ‘Surreal Love From Animal’, ‘Have You Ever Seen a Firefly?’, ‘Words in My Pocket’, ‘Bus Station’, ‘A Sheikh Becomes to Me’. He then wrote the play ‘Bir Demet Tiyatro ‘in which he played the leading role with Demet Akbağ.In 2001, he shot his first feature film, Vizontele, which he both wrote, starred and directed.
