Şener Şen was born on December 26, 1941, in Adana, as the son of Ali Şen, who worked as a carpenter at the time. After graduating from Kepirtepe Village Institute in Lüleburgaz, he was assigned as a teacher in Kocaeli. He began his artistic career by performing at Istanbul Municipality City Theatres. Unlike his father, who was a cinema artist, Şener Şen initially devoted himself to theater acting. He also appeared in radio dramas. However, due to insufficient income from theater, he eventually entered the world of cinema.

Şener Şen is recognized as a prominent figure in Turkish cinema and theater. He started his artistic career in theater, performing for many years at the Istanbul Municipality City Theatres and portraying numerous significant roles with success. Alongside his achievements on stage, he also showcased his talents in radio dramas. However, his breakthrough came in cinema. He achieved significant acclaim with the film “Muhsin Bey” (1987), directed by Yavuz Turgul, where he played the leading role. His performance in this film established him as one of the unforgettable characters in Turkish cinema.
